Is CD Bank FDIC Insured?

What is a CD?

Certificates of Deposit (CDs) are savings deposits with guaranteed interest rates for a specific period of time.

How do I open a CD with CD Bank?

Opening an account is easy. Just visit our online account opening tool. The process should take about 10 minutes. Make sure you have the following information handy: U.S. Social Security number, a valid form of ID (including Driver’s license, State ID or Passport) and your previous home address (if you’ve lived at your current home address less than two years). 

Please note that you must be at least 18 years of age and you must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien to open your account with us online.

Are there any fees to open or maintain my CD Bank CD?

There are no fees to open or maintain a CD with CD Bank.

How do I fund my CD Bank CD?

The easiest way to fund your account is to transfer funds electronically from another bank account. We also offer the option of  wire transfers. Our online account opening process will walk your through those steps.

Can I add additional funds to my CD Bank CD after it's been opened?

During the course of your term, you will not be able to add additional funds. However, you are always welcome to open additional CDs.

Will my CD Bank CD automatically renew?

Yes, your CD will automatically renew unless you provide us with instructions to withdraw your funds. You may contact CD Bank within the 10 calendar day grace period to add or withdraw funds from your account.

What is the grace period?

CD Bank offers a 10 calendar day grace period at the end of your term. During this time you can make changes to your account such as adding additional funds or withdrawing your funds.

Can I manage my account online?

Yes. Once your account has been received and your account has been activated, you’ll receive an email with information and instructions to enroll to manage your account online.   

Are there early withdrawal penalties for my CD with CD Bank?

Yes. Please refer to your accounts terms and conditions for a listing of withdrawal penalties.

Can I make a withdrawal from my CD with CD Bank before maturity?

Yes, however, there may be an early withdrawal penalty from any withdrawals made before maturity. Please refer to your accounts terms and conditions for a listing of withdrawal penalties.

How often is interest credited?

Interest on your account will be credited semi annually.
